I am a runner because I run

I leave for Beijing in less than eight-hours. Just four days now until the marathon. Gee, it has come around quickly.

A friend almost planted a seed of doubt about my abilities earlier when she posted me a note on Facebook asking whether I was prepared enough for the big race. Tone is a difficult thing to gauge when in a written form but you know how you can just tell sometimes by the way someone phases things? She obviously has her doubts.

But as I mulled over her comments while packing my bag tonight, I came across a few words of wisdom from Lululemon, which emboss things inside their sportswear, i’m sure, just for times like these. The inside of my top simply said: I am a runner, because I run.

Bring on the Great Wall!
