The hunt

So I’m stressed. Big time. I’m running so low on funds already that I’m worried I wont be able to complete this trip. This mindset certainly doesn’t help when you are on the hunt for a job.

Today was my first full day of looking but I spent half the morning sitting at the police station waiting in a line so they could stamp my working visa into my passport. As it turns out the queue was only to book an appointment at a later date so I still have to go back anyway! Bugga!

Yesterday I contacted a number of Norwegian newspapers but my preliminary discussions weren’t all that fruitful. The fact I don’t speak Norwegian seems to be the biggest factor. Many of them used to have English content on their websites but for some reason they have shut down their English arms in recent years. I guess the demand just wasn’t there.

So today I went on the hunt for a pub job, just to get some money rolling in. Norway is a ridiculously expensive country – it costs about $30 just to travel 100m in a cab. Not the best thing when you have no source of income.

Hopefully something comes up soon. 🙁
